Rick Fox is a former basketball player for the Los Angeles Lakers. Was he any good? What I do know is that he was on dancing with the stars, and what I do know is that he dated Eliza Dushku (he... had Faith. No Buffy fans? Ok moving on.) and I know that in 2015 he bought a shit their Leauge of Legends team called Gravity Gaming to be closer to his son, changed the name of the team to Echo Fox because I dunno, pride, then turned that team into a powerhouse in esports thanks to a combo of passion, good advice, and good decisions.
Funny story, Rick Fox just quit Echo Fox because one of Echo Fox's investment partners called him and the former CEO, Jace Hall, niggers. That's how that happened. Yeah.... Yup. And Rick had to leave, not the guy who said it... Oh esports, never change.
No one has said who the culprit is but the New York Yankees recently invested in Echo Fox and I want it to be Steinbrenner who said it but it probably wasn't because George Steinbrenner being racist is not and never will be news. My guess is that it was Stratton Sclavos from Vision Ventures but what the hell do I know?
Working in gaming means forever being Corey Haims Grampa in The Lost Boys. Esport is great, but one thing no person who is not a terrible human being can stomach is all the damn racists. Like, Rick Fox is a guy who's former job was to be on a basketball court having people full throat yell the word nigger to him for the course of a whole game and deal with it. Esports would be awesome if minorities, women, and gays were not constantly shit on and harassed out of the business. Might make a right proper thing to participate in for us if that could go down.
